People come in and out of our lives.
They touch you for a little while and then they leave.
I wish they would stay longer.
I miss the way we laughed.
I miss the fun times we shared together.
I miss the closeness of just cuddling on the couch.
I miss the jokes we shared at school.
I miss the simplicity of just hanging out.
I miss you.
Now you're off in your own world; your own world.
Making new friends.
Finding people to replace me with.
You've moved on and forgotten about me.
I wish you hadn't left.
You've left me here, watching you leave.
People come and go through our lives.
But I wish they wouldn't ever leave.

Back by Popular Demand, well sorta
So there were some responses to my "are you out there" blog so I guess I am not just writing to a void.
I have noticed, especially lately, that humans as a whole are much more likely to pick the easy way out than the route that while it might take more work, is much more satisfying in the long run. What happened to having a back bone and standing up for ourselves and doing what is right for our life and well being?
Some examples: Was watching tv last week and a woman was on What Not To Wear who was in an abusive relationship for 7 years. Her boyfriend told her what to wear and forbid her from showing skin pretty much. Now that she's no longer with him she has gone the complete opposite and is now a nudist.
Another example: I have some friends who put up with a ton of crap from their bf/gf and instead of standing up for themselves, whether it be drawing the line, calling them out on it, or dumping them, just keep putting up with it. They tell me that they don't want to go through the pain of dumping them and dwell on the times that are great instead of putting the negative times under the microscope.
Why are humans like this? Why do we put up with racists, or people who treat us badly, or jobs that we hate, etc?
Is it because we don't want to face the opposition alone? Is it because our self esteem isn't high enough to take the beating of going out on a limb? Or are we just scared of the unknown, the road less traveled.
I try and live my life not allowing people to beat me down. I stand up for myself, as much as possible, and say whats on my mind. This does get me in trouble sometimes but I wouldn't have it any other way. If only other people found the value in standing up and just saying "no, thats not gonna fly". We might not have abusive relationships, racist people and crimes, overpowering people controlling our lives and more.
My message for all you reading this: If you're in a situation that leaves you feeling the need to stand up for yourself, don't hesitate. You are your strongest supporter. Look out for #1, its ok to do! Don't put up with the crap because you think you don't have the strength to stop it. You will be surprised what once you take the step for speaking out, you will have strength that you never thought you had.

Is anybody out there......
So maybe its just my lack of knowledge of how this works, but it seems almost like I write these for my own viewing pleasure. Who reads these? How do I know my efforts are even worth it? If no one reads these, maybe I should just write them in a journal or something.
Feedback would be great! If you read this, please leave a comment or vote interesting at the bottom or something.
thanks so much!

Seeing the Good in People
Many things in this world totally boggle my mind. The feelings of awe and wonder at nature's many beauties. The connection you feel with animals/pets despite the many genetic differences. But the one thing that truly leaves me confused is the actions of people. There are many different things that people do that I can't wrap my head around. But one thing burns me over and over again. I am the kind of person that believes what people tell me. Some might call that gullible, but I like to think of it as taking people for their word and trusting that what they say is the truth. Unfortunately seeing the good in people, whether they are different than their negative reputation perceives them as, well intentioned, or even as far as dig me as a friend/more than friend, so often bites me in the ass.
The part that I don't get is, why are there so often negative consequences for believing that people in general are good people? This seems totally backwards to me. Maybe its what I have been taught to believe in my faith, that you should treat everyone like they are your brother or sister in Christ. Or maybe its just that old rule that you should treat people how you want to be treated. I tell the truth, or at least a high majority of the time, because I value honesty and look for that in others. I guess not everyone feels this way though, because time and time again people lie to me or tell me things that hurt deep to the core.
So what is it with people these days? So many people are pessimistic, and even violent or hate-filled. Is it no longer a good way of thinking that people are decent anymore? And the real thing I don't want to have to face or change, do we now have to prepare for the worst with people in order not to get hurt? I hate what this is coming to.
